Service Plan Terms & Conditions
General Terms
- The Cotswold Cycles Service Plan is for a 12-month period.
- Services not taken within the 12-month period will not be carried over.
- If the plan is cancelled within the 12-month period, any outstanding fees will become due for payment.
- The Cotswold Cycles Service Plan includes two Level 2 services for one bicycle within the 12-month plan period.
- However, if you own multiple bicycles, you may use the included services across two different bicycles.
- The Service Plan covers Customers providing their own parts to be replaced during the service. Any parts requested for replacement that that fall outside of the standard Level 2 serviceable elements, will incur a labour charge at the normal hourly rate to replace the parts, unless agreed in advance with the Service Centre Manager.
- We will contact Service Plan customers via email to remind them to contact the Cotswold Cycles Workshop to book their bicycle for servicing as included within the plan. Our reminders are complimentary; ultimately, it is the Service Plan customer’s responsibility to book their bicycle in for service at the workshop.
- If an appointment for a service needs to be cancelled, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice must be given. You will be offered the next available service slot. We will endeavour to expedite this new appointment; however, due to existing service bookings it could be up to 6-8 weeks away.
- Prior to carrying out any work, Cotswold Cycles will undertake an assessment of your bicycle to determine its condition and will contact you to advise of any additional work that may be required and/or parts that may need replacing and the costs of this work.
- Cotswold Cycles will not undertake any additional work or replace any parts without your consent. However, if you choose not to follow our recommendations, Cotswold Cycles cannot guarantee that your bicycle will work as it should, and Cotswold Cycles accepts no liability for any defects arising with the bicycle as a result of not having this work undertaken.
- There may be occasions where it is necessary for us to subcontract the work (or part thereof) to a third party: this includes (but is not limited to) suspension and carbon frame servicing and repairs. However, Cotswold Cycles will remain responsible for the actions of any subcontractor, and this will not affect your statutory rights.
Completion of Work
- Cotswold Cycles will endeavour to complete any work on your bicycle as soon as possible and within the estimated time scales provided to you on receipt of your bicycle and/or after the initial inspection. However, there may be times when this is not possible, and the time for completion will depend on the availability of replacement components.
Price & Payment
- The Cotswold Cycles Service Plan includes two Level 2 services for one bicycle within the 12-month plan period. Should any additional work be identified during the service inspection Cotswold Cycles staff will provide you with an estimate of the price for the works to be completed. We will not undertake any work until we receive your express permission. Delays in receiving confirmation from you that additional works can proceed, may delay the completion of the planned service works.
- Payment in full is required on completion of any additional work undertaken on your bicycle and prior to the return of your bicycle. Cotswold Cycles reserves the right to retain your bicycle until you have paid in full.
Collection of Bicycles
- You must collect your bicycle within 14 days of Cotswold Cycles notifying you that it is available (unless by prior arrangement). If you fail to do so, Cotswold Cycles may charge a storage fee of £5 per week.
- You will have 6 months (from the date of service) before Cotswold Cycles considers your bicycle to be abandoned and take possession of it. Cotswold Cycles will take whatever measures are required to recover our costs, including the sale of the bicycle.
Warranty
- Subject to the remainder of this clause, all replacement parts provided by Cotswold Cycles will be guaranteed through the manufacturer’s own guarantee for each component supplied and fitted as part of this service. All labour and workmanship carried out by Cotswold Cycles is guaranteed for a period of 3 months, commencing from the date of the work being undertaken.
- This warranty is subject to you:
- maintaining the bicycle in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty;
- providing proof of purchase of the service/repair; and
- allowing Cotswold Cycles to carry out the required repair work.
- This warranty is not valid where, in Cotswold Cycles’ reasonable opinion, defects with the bicycle have occurred due to fair wear and tear, improper use, criminal or malicious damage, fire, theft, instances where the bicycle has been used in an incorrect manner, or you have continued to use the bicycle after the defect or fault developed.
Risk
- Any personal items left on the bicycle when it is provided to Cotswold Cycles are left at the customer’s own risk. Cotswold Cycles accepts no liability for any loss or damage to these items. We recommend you remove any such items prior to dropping off your bicycle.
Liability
- If Cotswold Cycles fails to comply with these terms and conditions, we will attempt to repair the issue for you as soon as possible, which may include providing you with replacement parts.
- Under no circumstances will Cotswold Cycles be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, damage, or expenses (including loss of profits, business or goodwill, stress, or inconvenience) arising out of any problem you notify to us under these terms and conditions. We shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund the amount paid by you for the service.
- Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any of your statutory rights or in any way to exclude or limit Cotswold Cycles’ liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.
General
- Cotswold Cycles may amend these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the time of the work being undertaken apply to the contract between you and us.
