Colnago, official bike of the Tour de France, celebrates this event with a unique bike

It is a historic day. For the first time, the Tour de France starts in Italy.

Florence, the city of Dante Alighieri, the cradle of the Renaissance, hosts the Grand Départ of the 111th edition. Colnago, the official bike of the Tour de France, celebrates this event with a unique bike: the Colnago Fleur-de-Lys, a special edition produced in 111 numbered examples.

The name and livery of gold lilies on a blue field are a tribute to the lily – a heraldic element that symbolises royalty and pride – that unites the city of Florence, whose coat of arms is a red lily on a white field, with the history of the French nation, which has had gold lilies on a blue field as an emblem of its royalty since its beginnings.

Colnago, builder of the bicycles of the world’s most legendary cycling champions since 1954, is known for its attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and use of cutting-edge technology. This special bike for the 2024 Tour de France is no exception. It expresses the savoir-faire and artistry of Italian manufacturing in a tribute to the culture and history that unite the two countries.

Colnago has interpreted this connection through a bike, the C68 Fleur-de-Lys, which features the fleur-de-lys as a key design element.

The French lily is serially reproduced on the top tube in gold on a Bleu de France-coloured metal leaf field. This pattern—in addition to being a tribute to a recurring coat of arms in French royal iconography—echoes the pattern of the frescoes in the Sala dei Gigli, one of the most beautiful rooms in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. It is the venue for the teams’ presentations and the starting point of the first stage of the Tour.

Cotswold Cycles is a proud partner of Colnago and has access to this limited-edition bike.

If you are interested in this limited edition (we can but dream) or any other bike in the Colnago line-up, get in touch with Jeremy, and we can discuss your requirements.
