Cycling Legends – An evening with Chris Sidwells

We’re delighted to welcome back Chris Sidwells on Wednesday, 28th May 2025.

After a successful event in February, Chris Sidwells is returning to Cotswold Cycles to deliver a talk on his latest book, Flandriens – Cult Heroes of the Cobbles.

What you can expect from the talk…

  • Just why has Flanders, a small region of a small European country, had such a massive impact on world cycling?
  • What does it mean to be a “True Flandrien”?
  • How, over time, has the word Flandrien become synonymous with cyclists from anywhere embodying the same traits?

Join renowned author, historian and cycling journalist Chris Sidwells as he shares with you the untold stories and unseen photos from some of the region’s most iconic riders and races.

In this 90-minute event, you’ll hear stories you never knew before about some of the Cult Heroes of the Cobbles. From Briek Schotte to Rik Van Looy, De Vlaeminck to Johan Museeuw and so many more, Chris will utilise his life-long association with the sport, and over two decades of research, interviews and writing to immerse you into the spirit of the Flandrien.

This is a ticketed event managed by Cycling Legends Media.

Tickets are £12.50 for general admission and can be purchased via their website.
